Keeping Love in the Circle Around Me
Friday, October 4, 2024 - 7:00 pm Christ Lutheran Church, Minot, ND - Freewill Donation Saturday, October 5, 2024 - 6:00 pm Trinity Lutheran Church, Turtle Lake, ND - Freewill Donation Sunday, October 6, 2024 - 3:00 pm Trinity Lutheran Church, Bismarck, ND - Freewill Donation Dakota Pro Musica's first concert series of the season will is Keeping Love in the Circle Around Me. The concert was commissioned by the Mental Health and Addiction Recovery Task Force of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bismarck, ND. The repertoire of the concert is in three parts: choral music based on the Psalms and Spiritual texts, "Rejoice in the Lamb" a cantata by Benjamin Britten on the text of Christopher Smart, and recent compositions which inspire us with hope and love. Special guest ensemble AVORA will be joining us for the concert and their members will be our featured soloists. |
What Can I Give Him? - 4th Annual Lessons and Carols Friday, December 20, 2024 at 6:00 pm Assumption Abbey, Richardton - Free Concert Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 5:00 pm First Lutheran Church of Mandan - Free Concert followed by soup supper Sunday, December 22, 2024 at 5:00 pm Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, Bismarck - Free concert followed by reception A special service of Advent and Christmas Lessons and Carols created in collaboration with local parishes. The service includes traditional scripture readings which tell the story from Adam to the birth of Christ, traditional and modern choral anthems and carols, and prayers of reflection and joy for the coming Christ child. |
St. John Passion of J.S. Bach

Bach is one of the masterpieces of choral-orchestral music. March 21, 2025 marks the 340th birthday of J.S. Bach, and the performance of the St. John Passion in Bismarck will mark the first time in 40 years that a major work of Bach has been performed in Bismarck. The work tells the story of the Passion of Jesus according the Gospel of John. The performance will be done in a newly commissioned American English translation from the original German. |
