Keeping Love in the Circle Around Me
Friday, October 4, 2024 - 7:00 pm Christ Lutheran Church, Minot, ND - Freewill Donation Saturday, October 5, 2024 - 6:00 pm Trinity Lutheran Church, Turtle Lake, ND - Freewill Donation Sunday, October 6, 2024 - 3:00 pm Trinity Lutheran Church, Bismarck, ND - Freewill Donation Dakota Pro Musica's first concert series of the season will is Keeping Love in the Circle Around Me. The concert was commissioned by the Mental Health and Addiction Recovery Task Force of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bismarck, ND. The repertoire of the concert is in three parts: choral music based on the Psalms and Spiritual texts, "Rejoice in the Lamb" a cantata by Benjamin Britten on the text of Christopher Smart, and recent compositions which inspire us with hope and love. Special guest ensemble AVORA will be joining us for the concert and their members will be our featured soloists. |

What Can I Give Him? - 4th Annual Lessons and Carols Friday, December 20, 2024 at 7:00 pm (MT) Assumption Abbey, Richardton - Free Concert Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 7:00 pm Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, Bismarck - Free concert followed by reception Sunday, December 22, 2024 at 3:00 pm First Lutheran Church of Mandan - Free Concert followed by soup supper A special service of Advent and Christmas Lessons and Carols created in collaboration with local parishes. The service includes traditional scripture readings which tell the story from Adam to the birth of Christ, traditional and modern choral anthems and carols, and prayers of reflection and joy for the coming Christ child. |

St. John Passion of J.S. Bach
March 21, 2025 at 7:00 pm (MT) Assumption Abbey - Donations will be accepted at the door (we are suggesting $20/ person). March 22, 2025 at 7:00 pm (CT) Trinity Lutheran Church in Bismarck - Tickets $25/ person Pre-sale discount tickets until March 1st, $20/ person or $50/ for a family (up to 2 adults and their accompanying minor children). The St. John Passion of J.S. Bach is one of the masterpieces of choral-orchestral music. March 21, 2025 marks the 340th birthday of J.S. Bach, and the performance of the St. John Passion in Bismarck will mark the first time in 40 years that a major work of Bach has been performed in Bismarck. The work tells the story of the Passion of Jesus according the Gospel of John. The performance will be done in a newly commissioned American English translation from the original German. |

May 4, 2025 time TBD St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hague, ND - Donations will be accepted at the door. Dakota Pro Musica, North Dakota’s professional choral ensemble, is presenting a special concert titled "We Believe" to honor the 1700th anniversary of the Nicene Creed. The concert will feature five settings of the Nicene Creed from various musical eras including settings by Byrd, Monteverdi, Haydn and Schubert. The concert will be organized in the same fashion as a Mass Liturgy and will include an entire Renaissance setting of the Mass Ordinary by William Byrd, Gregorian Chants, 3 settings of Psalm 23, and a medieval medley of settings of the Benedicamus Domine from the 12th and 13th centuries. |

Mother Earth and Father Sky Postponed until Fall 2025 The concert will explore the relationship between the people of the Dakota Territories with the nature and Creation around us. Music will include modern classical compositions, and music by Indigenous composers. |
